Making On-The-Job Training More Accessible and Effective

This project built on Washington's current On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Direct Connect Training programs by:

• Using, improving and expanding OJT options to boost business output and get people back to work; and
• Connecting unemployed workers with short-term training that increases their competitivess in the labor market and retools them for economic recovery.
• Expanding availability of Lower Columbia College's Individualized Certificate Program to other parts of Washington.

Microsoft e-Learning update - The state's WorkSource website offers more than a thousand FREE online courses grouped into six learning plans.

• Microsoft e-Learning brief
• Testing ("Certiport")sites in 10 WorkSource offices: Auburn, Bremerton, Everett, Kennewick, Mount Vernon, Spokane, Tumwater, Vancouver, Walla Walla and Yakima/ Due to technical requirements, we are only offering certification in Microsoft Office 2007 in these locations
• There are also 50 IT Professional vouchers available. People who have successfully completed Microsoft IT Professional courses, either through e-learning or the classroom, can apply at their local WorkSource office.
