2010 Governor’s Best Practices Awards
for Economic & Workforce Development

Request for Nominations
Nominations due September 10, 2010

 

You are invited to submit nominations highlighting accomplishments in the combined field of economic and workforce development in Washington's communities, particularly achievements that create family-wage jobs, encourage innovation, and promote an environmentally healthy economy.

The annual Governor’s Award for Best Practices in Workforce and Economic Development brings statewide public and professional recognition to projects and programs that have achieved positive results and have made noteworthy contributions to both the field of workforce and economic development.

The following is the judging criteria:

  • The nominee(s) must have reached an outstanding level of achievement.
  • The nominee(s) actions, contribution and/or service should set them apart from the current practice.
  • The nominee(s) involvement should have a positive effect on creating a vibrant and sustainable community.
  • The nominee(s) action must have a positive economic impact on the community that can be supported quantitatively with data.
  • The nominee(s) must contain both workforce and economic development elements and/or partners.

A successful nomination must fill out a nomination form and provide requested information. The nomination may include supporting materials such as letters or articles providing additional information to the awards committee. However, the form must be filled in the manner prescribed for the nominee to be eligible for consideration.

All nominations must arrive by e-mail, by 5 p.m. September 10, 2010. Late nominations will not be considered. Email nominations to Marina Parr, mparr@wtb.wa.gov

The Governor’s Best Practices Awards will be announced later in the year .
